SUSYCHECK is a software platform (SaaS) for PPWR compliance and packaging management, operated by Central Agency for Green Commerce GmbH in Hamburg, Germany. It keeps every packaging with its structure, components, materials, weights and evidence in one system, connects suppliers through a portal, and generates Declarations of Conformity in the Annex VIII format and packaging data sheets for customers from that data - in all 24 official EU languages. It serves manufacturers, importers and distributors that place packaging on the market, as well as suppliers and private-label manufacturers that provide their customers with the data behind it. SUSYCHECK is not a consultancy: you work with your own data directly in the application.

The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR, Regulation (EU) 2025/40) has applied directly in all EU member states since 12 August 2026 - as a rule regardless of company size or industry. It affects every company that places packaging on the EU market: manufacturers for their own brands, importers for goods from third countries, and distributors. All packaging types are covered - sales, grouped and transport packaging, including purely B2B business. Companies that produce packaging for customers are obliged as suppliers too and owe the data behind their customers' evidence. Further stages follow in 2030 (recyclability, recycled content) and 2035.

No. LUCID registration and system participation under the German Packaging Act (VerpackG) cover producer responsibility for disposal: whoever first places packaging on the German market reports volumes and finances recycling. The PPWR starts earlier. It governs what the packaging itself must be like - substances of concern, recyclability, recycled content, minimisation, labelling - and requires a conformity assessment, Annex VII technical documentation and an Art. 39 Declaration of Conformity for each packaging. LUCID does not cover those obligations. Both apply side by side; SUSYCHECK handles the conformity part.

Usually not. If your customer has the packaging designed or made under its own name or trademark, it is the manufacturer under Art. 3(13) PPWR and issues the EU Declaration of Conformity under Art. 39 itself. That applies to brand owners just as much as to retailers with their private labels. You are the supplier under Art. 3(16) and owe the data and evidence that declaration rests on: material build-up, weights, components, information on substances of concern under Art. 5, recyclability and recycled-content shares. The right handover document is the packaging data sheet, not a Declaration of Conformity of your own. Many companies hold both roles at once: manufacturer for their own brands, supplier for their customers' private labels. The same packaging data carries both.

Yes - this is one of the most common cases. Intermediaries sit between their suppliers and their own customers, and those customers need packaging data to issue their own Declarations of Conformity. SUSYCHECK collects the material data from your suppliers, keeps it structured per packaging, and turns it into the technical data sheet you send downstream. Instead of chasing values across supplier emails for every customer request, you forward one document with a traceable data basis.

Yes. The usual route stays the packaging data sheet - your customer is the manufacturer under Art. 3(13) and issues its Declaration of Conformity itself. If it hands that task to you, SUSYCHECK generates the declaration in your customer's name: made out to its company details, filled from the packaging data, in the Annex VIII format and in all 24 official EU languages. Your customer reviews and signs, and the conformity responsibility under Art. 39 stays with it. For intermediaries and contract manufacturers serving many customer brands, this replaces document work per customer with one process per packaging.

The Declaration of Conformity is the formal statement you issue for the packaging you place on the market. The technical data sheet is the underlying packaging data, summarised in one PDF: basic data, packaging structure, components and materials, PFAS and heavy metal information, compliance details, certificates from notified bodies, and attached drawings or specifications. Its purpose is to supply your customers with the figures they need to issue their own Declaration of Conformity - so you send one document instead of answering individual data requests.

Everything your customer needs for its conformity assessment and its technical documentation under Annex VII: identification of the packaging, the packaging structure with all components, materials and weights per component, information on substances of concern including PFAS and heavy metals, recyclability, recycled-content shares, any existing certificates, plus drawings and specifications. SUSYCHECK generates this document from your packaging data - in all 24 official EU languages and in the same structure for every customer.

Through one data sheet per packaging rather than one answer per request. You maintain your packaging in SUSYCHECK once - structure, components, materials, substance information - and generate the same structured document for every request from it. Missing details are requested directly from your own upstream suppliers through the supplier access. Customers who want machine-readable data get it by export or REST API. When a packaging changes, you update one place instead of every customer thread separately.

Yes. Alongside the data sheet as a PDF, you pass on the same packaging data in structured form - by CSV and Excel export or through the REST API. Your customers load it straight into their own systems, such as PIM, ERP or the tool in which they generate their own Declaration of Conformity. The same holds one step further along: whatever your customer forwards to its own customers, nobody has to retype. When a packaging changes, the export and the API response follow automatically.

The EU Declaration of Conformity follows the model in Annex VIII of the PPWR and contains: a unique number for the declaration, the name and address of the manufacturer, the identification of the packaging it covers, the statement that the declaration is issued under the sole responsibility of the manufacturer, the declaration of conformity with the requirements of the regulation - in particular the substance restrictions under Art. 5 -, references to the harmonised standards or common specifications applied, details of the notified body where applicable, plus place, date, name, function and signature. It rests on the conformity assessment under Art. 38 and the technical documentation under Annex VII, which must be retained - five years for single-use packaging, ten years for reusable packaging. SUSYCHECK generates the declaration from the stored packaging data in the Annex VIII format, per EU member state and in all 24 official EU languages.

The manufacturer - whoever has the packaging designed or made under its own name or trademark and places it on the market (Art. 3(13); "Erzeuger" in the German text) - is responsible for the conformity assessment (Art. 38), the technical documentation (Annex VII) and the Declaration of Conformity (Art. 39). For packaging from third countries these obligations fall on the importer; distributors must verify that the evidence exists. This responsibility cannot be delegated to suppliers - not even when the data originates from them. Suppliers (Art. 3(16)) owe the underlying data and evidence. In practice that means you own the evidence chain. SUSYCHECK structures packaging data and supplier declarations into a complete, traceable compliance chain, so responsibility comes with the documentation to back it up.

Responsibility stays with you, so vague supplier statements (e.g. "not knowingly added") are not enough under PPWR. SUSYCHECK keeps supplier confirmations structured and traceable, flags missing information the moment it is missing, and lets you follow up with the specific supplier in the system - so every Declaration of Conformity you sign rests on verifiable data.

Without a Declaration of Conformity and technical documentation, a packaging may not be placed on the market - conformity has to be demonstrable, and missing evidence counts as non-compliance. Market surveillance authorities can request evidence, withdraw non-compliant packaging from the market or prohibit its sale. Penalties are set by the member states; the PPWR requires them to be effective, proportionate and dissuasive. In day-to-day business the pressure comes mainly from customers: retail chains and brand owners request packaging data from their suppliers, and whoever cannot deliver comes under pressure with their customers. SUSYCHECK makes sure the evidence exists per packaging before anyone asks for it.

From 1 January 2030 two further requirements apply: packaging must be recyclable under the PPWR design-for-recycling criteria and is graded into performance classes (Art. 6) - packaging that misses the minimum grade may no longer be placed on the market. Plastic packaging must also contain minimum shares of recycled content recovered from post-consumer waste (Art. 7), staggered by packaging type. From 2035 an additional assessment applies: whether the material is actually recycled at scale. Preparing means knowing material, weight and recycled-content share per component today. SUSYCHECK already captures exactly that data for the Declaration of Conformity - the dashboard shows which packagings report recycled content and where figures are missing, and you extend the same data structure stage by stage instead of starting a new project in 2029.

Yes, and that is the usual starting point. You import whatever exists today, and our AI-powered mapping structures the data and marks the gaps. You then invite the relevant suppliers into SUSYCHECK via link; they add and maintain packaging information and evidence themselves in the supplier portal, without any training or software. Declarations of Conformity are generated per packaging as soon as its data is complete - you build coverage step by step instead of running one large data project up front, and spare your team the chase for spreadsheets.

Suppliers receive a simple invitation link and can input their material data directly into SUSYCHECK - no software installation or training required. This eliminates the usual back-and-forth of emails and spreadsheets.

Yes. Upload supplier specifications, data sheets or photos as PDF or image files. Text recognition and AI extract the relevant packaging and material data and pre-fill the fields, which you then confirm or correct. This is usually the fastest way to digitise documentation you already have sitting in your inbox or file server.

Yes. There is a REST API for automated data exchange with your ERP, PIM or shop systems, plus CSV and Excel imports and exports for bulk work. Every write path applies the same validation and status logic as the user interface, so data stays consistent no matter which channel created it.

Most companies are up and running within a few days. You start with the product master data you have today - via CSV/Excel upload or directly in the web interface - and connect your suppliers via invitation link. From there, SUSYCHECK identifies the packaging components, requests missing information directly from the suppliers and builds the compliance data structure. Yes. SUSYCHECK generates country-specific Declarations of Conformity (DoC) that meet the requirements of Annex VII and VIII. You can generate DoCs for all relevant EU member states with a single click.

Both are generated in all 24 official EU languages - from Bulgarian and German through Maltese and Irish to Swedish. You pick the language at download, so each customer, authority or subsidiary receives the document in the language they need, without a translation round.

SUSYCHECK currently supports multiple European languages including German and English, with the interface fully localized for each. Additional languages are available on demand - so your international teams and suppliers can work in the language they're most comfortable with.

We treat your packaging data confidentially and protect it with technical and organisational measures. The application and database are hosted in the EU. For AI-supported features, we currently use LLM providers headquartered in the US; processing is governed by data processing agreements with Standard Contractual Clauses under Art. 46 GDPR, and your inputs are not used by the provider to train its models. We do not share your data with third parties for their own purposes.
